Happy Birthday, America! And Wyoming, Too!
Dear HCF friends and family,
This Independence Day, as fireworks light up the summer sky, we pause to celebrate the beauty, promise, and freedom of this country we love. At Hughes Charitable Foundation, we are especially grateful to live and serve in Wyoming: a state as strong and resilient as the people who call it home.
Just a few days after America’s birthday, we also honor Wyoming’s own! On July 10th, we celebrate 134 years of statehood. Since 1890, Wyoming has stood tall as the 44th star in the flag, with a legacy of wide-open spaces, fierce independence, and tight-knit communities.
We believe patriotism is more than celebration, it’s showing up for one another. It’s lending a hand when times are tough, and doing our part to make sure all our neighbors have a chance to thrive. From Jackson Hole to Gillette, Laramie to Wind River, the strength of this state lies in its people.
Let’s continue to work together to keep Wyoming, and our nation, strong, compassionate, and united. May this holiday inspire us all toward goodwill, kindness, and action!
With heartfelt thanks,
Hughes Charitable Foundation Board and Staff
