As we look ahead to Memorial Day Weekend, we’d like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the brave Americans who have sacrificed their lives in defense of our nation. Your dedication, unwavering resolve, and love for your fellow citizens will never be forgotten.

We honor you and your families — today and every day. Our gratitude extends to the fallen across the nation, and especially to our fellow Wyomingites who have given so much, both from settler heritage and from the Indigenous communities in the state.

In Jackson Hole, one of the weekend’s traditional events includes a parade that celebrates the history and heritage of the West. We’re proud to be co-sponsoring the Woxhooxebei Horse Culture Program to ride in the Old West Days Parade. This innovative program, run by the inimitable Allison Sage on the Wind River Reservation — connects young Indigenous people to their rich heritage and the landscape around them, all with a goal of creating community, supporting mental health, and preventing suicide.

We hope that you’ll all enjoy a safe, peaceful weekend with your loved ones. Even more importantly, we hope you’ll join us in remembering and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order for us to be free to do so.
